ShieldGuard is operated by Runaway Media Group FZCO. This page explains, in plain English, what information we handle and why. Questions? Email support@tryshieldguard.com.
The messages you check
When you paste a message or upload a screenshot, we send it to our AI analysis provider (Anthropic) to produce your verdict, and then show you the result. We do not keep a copy of your messages or screenshots on our servers, we do not write their contents into our logs, and we never sell them. Please avoid including information you consider sensitive — you can blur or cut out account numbers before uploading a screenshot; the verdict will work just as well.
Your email address
If you ask us to email you the Scam-Proof Checklist, we use your email address to send it (through our email provider, Resend) and to send a short series of plain-English scam alerts over the following two weeks. We do not sell or rent your email address. Every email we send includes a way to opt out, and you can also just reply and ask us to delete it.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number goes directly to Stripe — we never see it or store it. We receive from Stripe only what we need to run your plan: your email address, which plan you bought, and the payment status.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies, all functional:
- a cookie that counts your free checks for the day,
- a cookie that remembers your paid plan so you get unlimited checks, and
- if you arrived from one of our advertisements, a cookie holding an ad click id for up to 30 days, so we can tell our advertising partner that the ad led to a purchase. It contains no personal information about you.
We do not use third-party advertising or social-media tracking cookies on this site.
Hosting and logs
The site runs on Vercel, which keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and reliability. Our own application logs record only technical metadata — never the content of your messages and never your email address.
Who we share with
Only the service providers named above (Anthropic, Stripe, Resend, Vercel), each solely to provide the service, plus our advertising measurement described in the cookies section. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers.
Your choices and rights
You can use the checker without creating any account. You can ask us at any time to delete your email address or tell you what information we hold about you — email support@tryshieldguard.com and we will respond promptly. California residents have these rights under the CCPA; we honor the same requests from everyone, wherever you live.
Children
ShieldGuard is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update this page and its effective date. Meaningful changes will be announced by email to subscribers.
